SIDSA strengthens its position in the Asia-Pacific Region

International provider of digital broadcasting technologies, SIDSA, has reached an agreement with satellite service provider, SpeedCast, to protect its digital content in Asia and the Middle East.

Ref. CN0913 – Madrid (Spain) May 13th 2009 - SIDSA, the international provider of digital technology, is strengthening its position in the Asia-Pacific Region following an agreement with Hong Kong-based company, SpeedCast, to encrypt and protect its content distribution in Asia.

SpeedCast’s satellite platform, in operation since March and with over 35 clients in Asia and the Middle East, will initially use SIDSA’s technology to protect its content, which is delivered to a large number of wireless operators. In a second phase, the company plans to extend the platform to other type of users, such as shipping companies.

Pierre-Jean Beylier, CEO of SpeedCast, explains: “It’s a key factor for us to have full control of all the content that we up-link to the satellite. SIDSA approached us with a highly reliable and user-friendly option. The flexibility of the company to customise the platform, as well as an attractive price, made this an easy solution.”

Fernando Odriozola, vice president of business operations in Asia-Pacific for SIDSA, adds: “We are satisfied this project that will be to the benefit of the content delivered to many operators in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East area. We are already a well-known technology provider in Europe, the Middle East, Russia, North Africa and Latin America and have recently opened our office in Hong Kong. This project is an important milestone for us in our Asia-Pacific expansion.”
