Global Digital Broadcast Joins the Industry Giants at The ISPAs
The 2008 ISPAs – the 10th annual UK Internet industry awards – took place at the London Marriott, Grosvenor Square, on the last evening of the IPTV World Forum Show, held at Olympia, London. Attended by senior industry decision makers, government representatives and major media, The ISPAs is reputed to be the premiere event for the industry, with the award winners being nominated by their industry peers.
Jim Deans, co-founder and managing director of Global Digital Broadcast, says: “The sheer fact that we were there, as a finalist, makes us winners in my eyes. The past year has seen Global go from strength to strength, gaining increasing recognition and respect within the industry; and to be at The ISPAs last month was the icing on that cake. Expect to see a lot more of us throughout 2008.”
The 2008 ISPAs was held in association with Epitiro (Technologies) and winners included: Bt.yahoo.com for ‘Best Portal’; Vodafone for ‘Best Wireless ISP’; Waitrose for ‘Best Dial-Up’; Namesco for ‘Best Shared Hosting’; Astream for ‘Best Streaming’; PlusNet for ‘Best Consumer ISP; and with ‘Internet Villain’ going to HM Revenue and Customs and ‘Internet Hero’ to Peter Robbins OBE QPM, chief executive of IWF.
